Frequently asked questions about MyLagosAddress
Straight answers about your Lagos address, what happens when a package arrives, how inspections work and how forwarding is priced.
Your address and account
- How do I get my Lagos address?
- Register with your name, phone number and a username. Your suite code is created from that username — smitad becomes Suite J-SMITAD — and the full seven-line address is shown to you straight away. Registration is free.
- Can I choose any username?
- Usernames are letters, numbers and underscores only, with no spaces, and each one can be used by a single customer. A few reserved names are blocked. The registration form checks availability while you type.
- Can I change my username later?
- Yes, provided you have no active packages at the hub. If packages are in progress the change needs staff approval so nothing arrives against a code we no longer recognise. Old suite codes are kept permanently and are never reassigned to another customer.
Payment, inspection and storage
- Does MyLagosAddress hold my money?
- No. We do not hold, release or guarantee anyone's payment. What we do is receive the package, record what arrived, optionally inspect it, and give you the chance to review that record before you pay the seller or approve a payment instruction.
- What are my payment choices when a package arrives?
- You can tell us you have already paid and only need us to receive it, send us a payment receipt for verification, ask us to hold the package while you await instructions, or ask for inspection and delivery only. A receipt you upload is never treated as automatic confirmation — our team verifies it first.
- How much does an inspection cost?
- Detailed photos are ₦500, a recorded video inspection is ₦1,000 and a live video inspection is ₦2,000, per package. The condition checklist and written summary are included, and you can also choose no inspection.
- How long can you store my package?
- The first 14 days of storage are free. If you need longer, or you are waiting to combine several orders, tell us and we will confirm the arrangement for your package.
Forwarding, concierge and tracking
- How much does forwarding cost?
- Road, air and courier forwarding are quote-based. Interstate road waybill is estimated from ₦5,000, delivery within Lagos starts at ₦2,500 plus ₦350 per kilogram, and international forwarding starts from ₦18,500 plus ₦4,200 per kilogram. The final cost is confirmed after packing and weighing, and you approve it before dispatch.
- Will the receiver get the package at home?
- For interstate road waybill the standard arrangement is collection from the destination bus terminal or motor park. Home delivery from that park is a separate request and is quoted separately.
- Can you buy something on my behalf?
- Yes. Shop For Me and Pick Up and Pay both start from ₦1,999.99 as a quote-based service fee. You approve a budget cap, we send photos before purchase, and the receipt is uploaded to your account.
- Can I track my package?
- Yes. Enter your tracking reference on the tracking page to see hub status, inspection progress, waybill details and the estimated delivery stage.
- Who operates MyLagosAddress?
- MyLagosAddress is operated by Getittome Africa Concept Limited. Delivery operations are handled through Getittome Logistics.
